NDI adapters

Convert a supported SRT, RTMP or conference-participant source into a named NDI output managed from the Callaba UI.

What this module does

An NDI adapter bridges a verified input into the NDI network. Keep source diagnosis and NDI discovery separate so each side can be tested independently.

Before you start

  • A working supported input source.

  • Saved NDI network configuration and a receiver on the target network.

  • A unique NDI output name understood by the production team.

Settings explained

These are the controls an operator needs to understand. Internal field names and implementation events are intentionally omitted.

Adapter

Identify and control the bridge.

Name

Operator-facing adapter name.

Active

Start or stop the managed adapter.

Input source

Select the SRT, RTMP or conference participant preset.

NDI output name

Name advertised to downstream NDI receivers.

Safe first workflow

    Verify the input in its owning SRT, RTMP or Video Call module.

  2. 02

    Create the adapter and select the exact input resource or participant.

  3. 03

    Set a unique NDI output name and start the adapter.

  4. 04

    Discover the name on the downstream switcher or NDI monitor.

  5. 05

    Check adapter statistics and receiver playback together.

How to build it

  1. 1

    Validate the SRT publisher, bitrate and RTT.

  2. 2

    Create an NDI adapter using that SRT source.

  3. 3

    Start the adapter with a production-friendly NDI name.

  4. 4

    Discover and monitor the named source on the studio network.

How to build it

  1. 1

    Verify the participant media in the room.

  2. 2

    Select the exact participant in the adapter input.

  3. 3

    Start the NDI output and discover it downstream.

  4. 4

    Confirm the source follows the intended participant, not the full room.

Verify the result

  • The adapter reports an active source.
  • The intended NDI name is discoverable downstream.
  • Video and audio match the selected input.

Troubleshooting

The adapter is active but no NDI receiver sees it

Check
  • Verify the input first.
  • Check machine name, interfaces and discovery settings.
  • Confirm the output name is unique.
Then do this

Repair NDI network visibility before restarting or recreating the source module.
