Marshall CV730 NDI and SRT workflow boundaries with Callaba
PTZ camera transport decision hub
The Marshall CV730-ND3 combines PTZ acquisition with several IP output choices, but its transports are not all simultaneous. It is also listed by Marshall as discontinued. A safe deployment begins with the exact ND3 or ND3W model, installed firmware and output mode, then treats Callaba as the receiver and operations layer rather than as a camera-control replacement.

Keep the source, handoff and Callaba roles explicit
Source-side responsibility
Marshall owns image acquisition, PTZ movement, focus, exposure, embedded audio, hardware encoding and the camera web interface. The model and firmware determine which IP output controls actually exist.
Transport handoff
The handoff contract records output mode, codec, raster, frame rate, audio, destination, UDP port, delay and any security values. It must also state whether NDI HX is enabled because that changes the available stream family.
Callaba responsibility
Callaba owns the reachable receiving endpoint, transport telemetry, browser Multiview, recording, routing, playback and downstream automation after the camera has produced a valid feed.
Preflight a discontinued CV730-ND3 without copying the wrong mode
- 1. Read the full label and confirm CV730-ND3 or ND3W rather than a current BHN/WHN or an older CV730 variant. Save the firmware version and the official manual revision in the event runbook.
- 2. Choose the production transport before opening ports. If SRT or RTMPS is required, use the documented non-NDI stream mode; if NDI HX is required, plan a separate controlled bridge instead of promising both paths from the camera.
- 3. Create the matching Callaba receiver and align address, port and recovery values. Keep passphrases and Stream IDs outside screenshots, page analytics and shared editorial notes.
- 4. Test video, embedded audio, PTZ operation and network load at the selected 4K or HD profile. Confirm that changing the NDI mode does not silently remove the expected SRT or RTMPS output.
- 5. Verify the feed in Callaba Multiview, inspect transport health, make a short recording and exercise one downstream route. Document a replacement or bridge plan because the ND3 family is discontinued.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Marshall CV730-ND3 send NDI HX and SRT at the same time?
The current ND3 manual states that RTSP, RTMP, RTMPS, MPEG-TS and SRT streams cannot be used while NDI HX2 or HX3 is enabled. Treat that as a hard mode boundary and verify the installed firmware rather than promising simultaneous output.
Is the CV730-ND3 still a current Marshall model?
Marshall lists CV730-ND3 and ND3W in its discontinued section. Existing cameras can remain useful, but a new design should include firmware availability, support ownership and a tested replacement or external bridge path.
Which codec should the camera use for Callaba?
Select H.264 for the widest downstream compatibility or HEVC only when the camera mode and every recorder, route and destination have been verified. The transport connection alone does not prove codec compatibility.
Does Callaba control the Marshall PTZ camera?
This workflow does not make Callaba the PTZ controller. Marshall or the chosen camera-control system owns movement and image settings; Callaba begins at receiving, monitoring, recording and routing the encoded output.
What should be tested after changing NDI mode?
Confirm the intended SRT or RTMPS output still exists, then verify video, audio, transport statistics, a short recording and the final destination. Mode changes can alter the output family, so repeat the full preflight.
