Record and Download your Event at the same time | Growing MKV file
Recording your live event and downloading the file during the recording process can be useful when you need to quickly add clips to your broadcast. In Callaba, you can do this by using a growing MKV file.
Here’s how to set it up step by step.
Set up your stream
Start by setting up the stream you want to record. Once you’ve got your stream running, you can move on to setting up the recording.
Create a recording task
Go to the Recording section in the Callaba interface.
Click "Add New" to create a new recording task
Name your recording task
Set your incoming stream as input
In the "Output format" dropdown, select Growing MKV file
Adjust any other settings if needed
Save your settings to start the recording
Once you save your recording task, the recording process will start right away.
To see your file being recorded, open the File Folder.
Download the file while recording
In the File Folder, you’ll notice that the Download button is active.
You can download growing MKV file at any time, even while the recording is still ongoing.
Stop the recording when finished
Once you're ready to stop recording, select the recording process and click Stop.
You’ll now have your complete file, and you can still use any portions downloaded earlier.
That’s it. You can now record and download clips during your live event without interrupting the process.
