What is multi-streaming?

Multi-streaming is broadcasting one video stream to many platforms at once.  For production ingest and monitoring, see continuous streaming. For playback integration and analytics, use video api. Recommended product path: Ingest & route, Player & embed. For this workflow, Player & embed is the most direct fit., and scaling guide. For this workflow, Paywall & access is the most direct fit. Before full production rollout, run a Test and QA pass with Generate test videos and streaming quality check and video preview. Before full production rollout, run a Test and QA pass with a test app for end-to-end validation.

Product decision guide

Run multi-streaming as one controlled distribution workflow

The Callaba Multi-Streaming product receives one contribution feed and manages multiple platform outputs without forcing the encoder to upload a separate copy for every destination. This page is the canonical guide for the workflow; the narrower OBS articles remain setup helpers rather than competing owners.

What to compare in multi-streaming software

  • Single upstream: Measure whether one stable contribution feed can serve all destinations without exhausting venue upload capacity.
  • Per-output control: Check that operators can start, stop and diagnose YouTube, Twitch or custom RTMP outputs independently when one platform rejects a feed.
  • Visible recovery: Use a monitoring surface that shows the source and important outputs so the team can separate an encoder fault from a destination-specific fault.

Automation comes second. Build and validate the destinations in Callaba first. Use API orchestration later for repeatable channel provisioning, not as a substitute for an observable operator workflow.

Multi-streaming service and OBS questions

What is the best way to multi-stream with limited upload bandwidth?

Send one stable feed from OBS, Wirecast or vMix to Callaba and let the server create the destination outputs. The venue then carries one upstream contribution instead of one upload per platform.

Can each multistream destination use different credentials?

Yes. Configure and protect the stream key or destination URL per output. Test failure and credential rotation for one platform without disrupting the other outputs.

How should I evaluate a multistreaming service?

Use your real encoder, target platforms and event bitrate. Score ingest stability, independent output controls, monitoring, recovery time and deployment fit rather than destination count alone.
